The Act.
The South African Apartheid Settlements Act (SA-SA), passed in 1994, played a significant role in the implementation of policies in South Africa. This Act was specifically aimed at recovering funds or bank accounts belonging to South Africans and non-South African indigenes who died during the Apartheid regime.
The purpose of the Act was to establish a legal framework for locating and reclaiming dormant accounts that had remained unclaimed since the end of the Apartheid era. The Act aimed to ensure that these assets were returned to their rightful owners, in accordance with the principles of justice and fairness..
